 Welcome to Kaleidoscope!  I hope you will come and play with your family and enjoy the wonder and creativity of childhood.  Kaleidoscope is designed for children walking thru age 6 & older children are welcome and enjoy the space as well.  Many of our special events are great for all ages.  Kaleidoscope is designed specifically to encourage creative play and thinking.  I believe the use of imagination at a young age is critical to developing the creative thinkers of our future!

Be sure to bring a change of shoes if you wear rain boots - for their safety children may not be admitted with just socks.

We are in the Waumbec Mill in Manchester, the NEW home of TINY TOTLAND! 

We are not allowed signage on the building or on the street.  Look for Tiny Totland's sign, turn onto Waumbec Street and drive around the back of the building to our private entrance. 

Hints to Finding Us:  Do not wander through the mill to get to us!  It is very difficult to get to us from inside the mill (it takes 2 different elevators and a long walk to get to us!) 

Park in back and we have 2 private entrances! 

  • From Commercial Street, turn onto Waumbec Street.  You will see the river in front of you, park and there are 2 entrances directly to the museum.  The Main Entrance is on the river side of the mill and has granite steps with an iron railing.  There is also a door on the North End of the mill which leads to an indoor ramped entrance.  Both have gold and black signage for Kaleidoscope.  Due to the historic nature of the mill we are not allowed a larger or more ostentatious sign.  :)  Finding us is an adventure, but well worth it! 
  • Parking note:  during the week you can park in any un-reserved space or one which says "reserved for visitors of the Waumbec Mill".  On weekends you can park in any space.  Reserved spaces are only M-F.  If you are unable to find a space in the mill parking lot, there are usually metered spaces available on Commercial Street.  During M-F special events, parking can be more of a challenge - plan ahead and give yourself time to find a space.
  • Please understand that this is a mill building.  There are many different businesses in this building and parking can be a bit unpredictable.  Some days there are tons of spaces right outside our front door.  Other times you may have to walk a little from your space to our entrance at the back of the mill.  Usually the walk is not further than it is from a parking space at a strip mall.  Our staff can't reserve a parking space for you.  Please plan time to park into your visit schedule.  Our company has no control over the parking lot.  Thank you for your understanding.

Monday September 6th:  CLOSED LABOR DAY - unless we are expecting steady rain in Manchester we will be closed on Labor Day.  Enjoy the holiday!

SATURDAY OCTOBER 2nd:  CLOSING AT 4PM

Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm   On very rainy days we will stay open until 4pm. 

Fridays & Saturdays 9am-6pm

Sundays Noon-6pm

School Vacations: 

During NH School Vacation Weeks we will be open: M-TH 9am-5pm, Fri & Sat 9am-6pm, Sunday Noon-6pm.
In inclement weather we will post delayed openings or closings on our website.  Join our email list to receive emails re:closings, hour changes or special events.  Email us at info@nhchildrensmuseum.net to be added to our e-newsletter list.

Admission:

  • $9.99 per child ages 1 and up
  • Children before their 1st birthday and adults: FREE
  • Unfortunately we are not elligible to become members of the ACM or ASTC and thus are not able to honor their memberships for admission to Kaleidoscope.
  • Due to abuse of memberships, we do not offer season's passes or annual memberships.  See below for ways to save on single or multiple visits!

We accept CASH, M/C, VISA and DISCOVER.  There is a $5 minimum on all debit/credit card purchases.  Personal checks are not accepted.

All adults must be accompanying a child and all children must be in the care of an adult at all times.

  • Military Discount: 15% off admission with military ID (applies to general full-priced admission only, cannot be applied to classes, camps or parties; cannot be combined with coupons, discounts or promotions)
  • THURSDAYS:  MULTIPLES DAY! Twins, triplets and more are buy-one admission, get-one admission free!
  • Find coupons in the ENTERTAINMENT BOOK
  • Sign up for our e-newsletters and get coupons sent to your inbox every month! 
  • Come as a group trip or field trip (see groups link at the top of this page)

(Coupons can not be combined with any other discount, play pass or promotion and are not applicable to special events or parties) 

Play Pass:  During any visit to Kaleidoscope you can request a Play Pass.  This is a frequent visit card.  We will stamp your card for each full price child admission paid every time you play with us.  Your 5th paid child admission will be HALF PRICE and your 10th will be FREE!  Play more and save more!  (Can not be combined with coupons or promotions)  Make sure to present your play pass when you check in.

Amenities:

  • Stroller Parking - strollers occupied by a child are allowed.  If not being used to carry a child, strollers must remain parked in designated area for your child's safety.  Thank you for your understanding.
  • Snack Bar/Bag Lunch Area (bag lunches allowed - no peanut products permitted)  We have light snacks which do not list peanuts in their ingredients available at the snack bar for purchase.  We do our very best to keep Kaleidoscope peanut-free.  We do not carry nor do we allow any peanut butter or other foods which have peanuts, peanut butter or peanut oil listed in the ingredients.  Parties and celebrations may not be held in our snack bar area.  All parties must be booked with us in advance.  Call today to see how we can make your child's special day a memorable event!
  • Private Party Room/Classroom

PLEASE NO CROCS, SLIPPERS  or FLIP FLOPS! - We know they are easy kids' shoes - but they are not safe on our worn wood floors.  Please wear well secured sandals such as merrills or sneakers!  During Winter Months, please consider bringing a change of shoes for you and your child.  This helps keep the floors clean.  Children will NOT be permitted to play without shoes on and adults will also be required to have shoes on.
